Whether you have lost your phone on a night out or sold your phone for some extra cash, trying to figure out how to remove your iCloud account from your iPhone can be a frustrating task.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to remove your iCloud account remotely:
Step 1: Log into your iCloud account.
You can log into your iCloud account from any device with an internet connection. Simply visit www.icloud.com and fill in your Apple ID and password.
Step 2: Two-Factor Authentication
Depending on how your iCloud was set-up, it might require you to enter an additional code. This will be sent to the phone number linked to your iCloud account or if you have another Apple product near by – the code will simply pop-up on that device.
Step 3: Select the ‘Find my iPhone’ icon
Once you are logged in, click on the ‘Find my iPhone’ icon to proceed to the next steps. You might be required to enter in your iCloud password again at this stage (Apple is very pedantic about security)!
Step 4: Select your Device
Select the ‘All Devices’ drop-down menu and select the device you would like to erase from your iCloud account.
Step 5: Erase the Device
A pop up box of the device will appear on your screen with three different options. Select the ‘Erase iPhone’ option and then proceed to select next and then done.
Step 6: Remove from your Account
A message will then pop up indicating that the ‘Erase Process’ has started, all you have to do is select ‘OK’. You will then be prompted with a ‘Remove from Account’ message – select this option and the device will be successfully removed from your device list on your iCloud account.
